June and July Cosplay Events

June 25th - 12pm - Gasukan at Golden Gardens Park in Ballard
All are welcome. We have cosplayers, deuling and other games. Not a cosplayer that fine. Come and make friends with others who have the same interest as you.

July Gasukan is currently in the voting process for location and date. This month theme is Gijinka: Black and White Pokemon. Check on July 1 for the final location and date or go to: http://www.cosplay.com/showthread.php?t=244520

July 2nd – 2pm - Red, White and DEAD Zombie Block Party at Fremont Studios. Thriller Flash Mob, Fashionably Undead Costume Contest, Movies and More. Shuffle your way to Fremont to break NJ’s Guinness World Record of Zombies.

July 3rd - 12pm - Seattle Youth Otaku (Seattle YO) meet up at the Kubota Gardens. After some photos in the garden the group heads down to Marvist Park in Normandy, WA to light off some fireworks in the evening.

July 9th - 12pm - Summer Cosplay Picnic at the north side of the International fountain at the Seattle Center. Cosplay is not required. However, we do require that people bring REAL FOOD. Cookies, Brownies and Cakes are not real food. Anyone is welcomed to attend.

July 9th – 7-8pm - Seattle Dragon Fest’s Anime Costume Contest at Hing Hay Park in the International District in Seattle. Sign up at SeattleDragonFest.com or go and watch to see who wins.

July 16th - 1pm - X-Men Photo Shoot at Gasworks Park. Flex those mutant powers and join the other cosplayers and be an X-Men.

July 24th - Isho Con – 1pm – Olympia’s monthly cosplay meetup is at Huntamer Park in Lacey, WA. The theme this month is Super Heroes so grab your tights and cape and get saving that world.

July 24th - Chinatown Seafair Parade "Cosplay Parade". Open for all to attend: Meet at 10th Ave S and S King St by 6pm to be able to march in the parade

Left 4 Dead/Bioshock Cosplay photo shoot in the basement of the Seattle Center House. Love zombies and just didn’t get your fill at the Red, White and Dead in Fremont earlier in the month? Well we could always use more zombies to attack our survivors. Cosplay and video game geeks are dressing up and having fun being the horde. MOVED TO AUG 6.

Car pooling is always reccomended to help everyone save money for cosplays, anime, food and big conventions.

Lake Union Park

Address: 860 Terry Ave N
This park is currently having construction projects in the works.

Other: You can see Gasworks
Access: Bus, S.L.U.T. and Car
Parking: Parking lot and street parking
Bus: The South Lake Union Train runs from Westlake Center to the Park; Bus Route 17 is the closet but there is are also 70, 71, 72, and 73
Features: Paths, Lawns, Model Boat Pond, Lake views, City views
Food: A few within walking distances
Pros & Cons:
Pro: Large lawns, Lake views, City views
Cons: Lots of water fowl poop, no shade, no covered area















Pratt Park

Address: 1800 S Main St.
Other: Possible covered area ( cover basketball court)
Access: Bus and Car
Parking: Street parking
Bus: Route 27
Features: Restrooms, Paths, Play Area, Picnic Sites, Lawns,
Food: Few within walking distances
Pros & Cons:
Pro: Large lawns and easy access
Cons: Few food locations near by and parking can be tricky no shade

Green Lake Park

Address: 7201 E Green Lake Dr. N
Other: This park is divided into 2 portions East and NorthWest and is open 24 hours
Access: Bus and Car
Parking: 2 small parking lots one on each portion and street parking
Bus:
Routes to access the East: 16, 48
Routes to access the NorthWest: 358 (the first stop at Aurora and Winona)
Features: Restrooms, Paths, Play Area, Picnic Sites, Waterfront, Views, Large Lawns, Boat rentals, wading pool, beach, etc
Food: Some places in walking distance
Pros & Cons:
Pro: Large lawns, plenty of shade, lake views, Great for summer usage
Cons: parking is tricky since most is street parking, No covered areas, this is a very popular park so it does get rather crowd fast

East side:






Northwest:









Woodland Park

Address: Aurora Ave. N and N 59th St.
Other: This park is divided into 2 sections, the upper and lower portions.The lower portion has all the sporting areas and the upper portion is the wood like setting and picnic sites. There are 3 small covered picnic sites on the upper portion of the park.
Access: Bus and Car
Parking: Parking lot
Bus: Route 44, 16, 5, all with a bit of walk
Features: Restrooms, Paths, Play Area, Picnic Sites, Large Lawns, Sport Fields, Woods, Skate Park
Food: Driving distances and a few within walking distances
Pros & Cons:
Pro: Large lawns, plenty of shade, wood like setting
Cons: Food is a bit of a walk away as well as access by bus
